Reviews

SO disappointed with this book after seeing so many positive reviews. I must admit that title says "Handbook," which is all that it really is. So, my bad there. The description, which says "lessons" and "step-by-step" is very misleading. There is zero practical application here. There is no discussion of how to use these (very simple) arpeggios that the author presents. I think any beginning guitar player knows what an arpeggio is; that is, playing the individual notes that make up a chord. All this book does is go through lots and lots of three and four-note arpeggios in different places on the neck. Something anyone can do on their own! The trick is where and when and how to USE these in your playing. This book offers little or nothing to that end. I'm getting tired of using Modern Method for Guitar (Leavitt) series for my students, but I guess it's still the best. I'd love to hear other recommendations. This one's going in the recycle bin.
